Before starting towards Lachen, we visit Tsomgo Lake and pay our respects at Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir. Tsomgo Lake, a glacial lake at 12,400 ft, offers breathtaking views and holds symbolic significance among the locals. Visit this sacred destination, home to Brahminy ducks and other sacred birds. Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir on the other hand is a shrine to the legendary soldier who sacrificed his life for our country.

The locals believe that Gurudongmar Lake is a manifestation of Lord Guru Padmasambhava's (Guru Rinpoche's) divine powers, and its waters have healing properties and the ability to grant wishes.
The other must-visit town in North Sikkim is Lachung, home to the ancient Lachung Monastery and the uninhabited Yumthang Valley. This place is famous for rhododendron flowers and healing hot water springs. Those who want to experience the thrill of high-altitude driving can take a cab to the Yumthang Valley Zero Point as well!
Opposite to these dry, tranquil cities is the green and bubbly atmosphere of Pelling. It is home to the stunning Pemayangtse Monastery which houses amazing artefacts and ancient Buddhist paintings and scrolls. Reach Bagdogra Airport or NJP Railway Station and directly get a drive to Gangtok. Reach the hill station by afternoon and spend the evening exploring MG Marg and surrounding locations.
Start your 10-day Sikkim sightseeing tour with an early morning excursion to Tsomgo Lake. This high-altitude sacred lake boasts great views of snow and some good tea stalls as well as pet yaks. Then drive ahead 12 kilometers towards India Bhutan border to reach the Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir. The evening is free for more Gangtok sightseeing.
From over the valley of Chungthang, drive from Gangtok to Lachen. This is where the Lachen and Lachung rivers meet. On the way, you will also stop for lunch and at Bhim Nala, Naga and Twin Falls. Check into a comfortable hotel around the evening. You can spend a few hours exploring the town before retiring to your bed.
On the 4th day, we set out for one of the highest lakes in the eastern Himalayas, Gurudongmar. Spend a few hours on the banks of this revered spiritual location before returning and starting the trip towards Lachung. Spend the night at Lachung after reaching in the evening.
To make the most of your 10-day Sikkim itinerary, you can explore every town we reach before breakfast. As for the fifth day, we will start after the warning meal towards the hidden Flower Valley of Yumthang and explore the surrounding forests. You can spot Rhododendrons and take a bath in the holy hot water springs. In the evening, return to Gangtok.
Spend the night following your 6th day at Pelling. After an early breakfast, you set out for the 6-hour drive from Gangtok to Pelling. You are likely to check into your hotel right after lunch and walk around the down to get an idea of the area and explore the nature.
There is a lot to see and experience in this captivating town! You will visit Rimbi Waterfalls, Kanchenjunga Falls, Khecheopalri Lake, Pemayangtse Monastery and Rabdentse Ruins. Don't forget to try authentic Nepali and Tibetan cuisine!
It takes approximately 3 hours to reach Darjeeling from Pelling, and the road passes through untouched evergreen forests rife with wildlife. After reaching Darjeeling, you can experience a happening nightlife at the Mall Road and nearby regions where many 24-hour restaurants and clubs remain open.
Nothing compares with the historic charm of Darjeeling, the highlight of our 9th day. Start the day by visiting the Tiger Hill at 4:00 a.m., and then reaching Ghoom Monastery and Batasia Loop. After breakfast enjoy a guided tour of the city including the PN Zoological Park, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Tenzing Rock, Tibetan Refugee Center and Japanese Temple.
Say your goodbyes and after a filling breakfast, get ready for your journey back to Bagdogra Airport or NJP Railway Station. Here, you reach the end of your 10-day holiday in Sikkim. You can carry your journey forward towards your hometown or any other trip.
