Gauri Kund was named after Goddess Parvati and it is believed that here Goddess Parvati did penance to win over Lord Shiv and at this place, Lord Shiva agreed to marry Goddess Parvati. There are many stories of Lord Shiva and Goddess that happened here.

There are no big restaurants and the number of restaurants is limited in Kedarnath. The only options for dining in Kedarnath are Dhabas and hotels. While traveling to places in Kedarnath you should carry food.
Note: Make sure you do not bring any beverages or non-veg food in Kedarnath because the place is part of Chardham.
