History of Japanese Bunkers

During world war 2, Subhash Chandra Boss aggressively supported freedom fighters and he also fought against British Government for the freedom of India, also he wanted to take the adventure of the World War scenario. According to his strategy, the Japanese Army took control of Andaman and Nicobar Islands from the British government. During that time more than 250 strong bunkers were made by the army for the storage of weapons at the strategic location where he got benefited during fights.

Due to Subhash Chandra Bose’s support and collaboration with the army, they gifted this place to Subhas Chanda Bose. After that, he named this Island Shaheed and Swaraj because a lot of Indian soldiers were also martyred during the fight against British Army and he proudly hosted the Indian flag.
